Nikki Lindsey, RN, LNHA
CEO
Nikki Lindsey, RN, LNHA, is a dedicated healthcare leader with nearly three decades of experience serving rural healthcare communities. She graduated from University of Jamestown (formerly Jamestown College) in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Nursing. During her time in college, she was recognized for her academic excellence as a member of the Alpha Chi National Nursing Society and earned the distinction of being named a College Fellow in the Nursing Department.
Nikki began her career with Cooperstown Medical Center in May 1997 as a Registered Nurse in the hospital setting. Through years of commitment and leadership, she advanced into numerous key roles including Quality Assurance Manager, Swing Bed Coordinator, Infection Control Nurse, Cardiac Rehab Director, and Director of Nursing for both the hospital and care center. After serving as Director of Nursing for 10 years, Nikki was appointed CEO of both facilities in 2014.
That same year, she completed her Licensed Nursing Home Administrator training through the North Dakota Board of Examiners and earned her LNHA license. Nikki’s dedication to advancing rural healthcare leadership was further recognized in 2016 when she received the prestigious “Emerging Rural Health Leader” award from the Rural Health Association of North Dakota.
William McKinnon
MD
Dr. William McKinnon Medical Director and Altru Health System Board member has been with Altru Health System for 33 years as an emergency medicine physician, medical director of the emergency department and ambulance service, first chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine, medical director of regional operations and development and most recently medical director of oncology, radiology, and pathology services.
Judy Monson
CFO
Judy is a seasoned financial executive and dedicated advocate for the sustainability of rural healthcare and long‑term care in North Dakota. With more than two decades of experience across healthcare finance, public accounting, banking, and agricultural tax strategy, she brings a rare blend of technical expertise, strategic insight, and mission‑driven leadership.
Judy currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Dakota Regional Medical Center, a Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic, and the Griggs County Care Center, a skilled nursing facility in Cooperstown, North Dakota. In this role, she leads all aspects of financial reporting and compliance, budgeting and forecasting, risk management, and long‑term strategic planning. She partners closely with organizational leadership to guide capital allocation, support operational sustainability, and strengthen the financial resilience of rural healthcare systems.
Since 2005, Judy has also owned and operated her own tax and accounting practice, providing comprehensive accounting services and preparing tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and nonprofit organizations. Her work spans general ledger management, payroll, sales tax reporting, and specialized filings such as IFTA reporting.
Previously, Judy spent more than a decade as a Senior Tax Specialist with AgCountry Farm Credit Services, where she built long‑standing relationships with agricultural clients through year‑round tax planning and preparation. She also contributed to organizational improvement as Chair of the Tax Department Efficiency Committee and served on the Peer Review Committee.
Her early career includes serving as an Accountant for McVille State Bank, where she managed accounting and tax reporting for multiple locations and supported internal audit, loan processing, investment reconciliation, and banking software operations.
Judy is a graduate of Valley City State University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting. She graduated Cum Laude and was recognized on the Dean’s List.
Driven by a commitment to stewardship, strategic thinking, and catalytic leadership, Judy is passionate about strengthening the financial foundations of rural healthcare and ensuring its long‑term viability for the communities it serves.
Alecia Neva
Human Resources Director
Alecia Neva has been the HR Director since November 2023, where she focuses on creating a positive and supportive workplace. She has a strong background in management, along with experience that has helped shape her communication style, leadership approach, and customer service skills.
Alecia values honesty and genuinely enjoys helping others. She works to create an environment where employees feel comfortable coming to her with questions,
concerns, or support needs, and she strives to be approachable and easy to talk to.
Outside of work, Alecia values time with family and her dogs. She also enjoys bringing creativity into everyday life and believes a strong team culture is built on genuine connection and respect.
